Republicism vs Republicanism 2.0 Part 2--with Podcast

The Hill: Musk floats ‘The America Party’ after Trump tiff—the 80% middle.

We have the left side of the Republican spectrum that is filled with people whose focus is everything but principles: personal agendas, government jobs, power, and the like.

Then on the right side we have absolutists. These people are the you are 100% with me or 100% against me. This is counter productive. The absolutist types create things like the Mega Bullfrog of “Truth” a parody of Brian Hornback. This is not productive as it focuses on personalities instead of issues.

As Elon Musk stated, what about the 80% in the middle?

This too is a spectrum.

I have been reading Newt Gingrich’s book Defeating Big Government Socialism. Below are some quotes from the book. I am not sure if the quotes are 100% exact.

The big problem here is these candidates have not been forced to think hard enough about the issues and their positions to fight for them once elected.

The consultants keep score with campaign victories. This is a problem. As we are seeing Donald Trump is at 55% approval ratings because he focuses on issues: making promises and delivering on them. Meanwhile, half of Republicans in Congress are busy undermining Trump.

If you want to win the argument, you must have positive ideas to advocate. The traditional Republican campaign has a goal to win the attack.

Success in grassroots activism is winning elections and having influence in policy.
